Technical Application's Market
Task One: Identify two companies and one product produced by each company that directly relate to the NCT technical application your team has selected.
Dyesol is a company which specializes in advancing solar cell technology, dabbling in other related fields as well. In recent years, the company has turned its focus towards the applications of graphene in making higher-performing and most cost-efficient products. Dyesol teamed up with 2-DTech to develop graphene enhanced photovoltaic devices. In addition to new developments, Dyesol provides a variety of sensitising dyes. 2-DTech directly offers a medium-sized array of graphene products, ranging from graphene oxide to graphene nano-platelets (which are used to enhance solar cells).
Task Two: Identify one professional association or trade organization associated with the products your team identified. Include: its name, description of its mission, and number of people/companies involved.
PVThin is a non-profit organization based out of Brussels. Their mission is to educate the world on the advantages of using solar thin films. PVThin is dedicated to increasing global power security and making sure that countries who are cutting down on carbon emissions, have plenty of clean energy to fill the new gap. PVThin truly believes that with solar thin films energy can be cheaper, cleaner, and more efficient.

Task Three: Propose and describe a new product or new process based on your team's NCT technical application.
To replace transparent electrodes made using ITO, the new materials, the processing of those materials, and the manufacturing of the final product must be cheaper and less energy intensive. Our proposed method of making conductive graphene films would appear to achieve both of these objectives. The idea would be to take a substrate (glass) and spin coat it with a thin film of graphene solution. The treated substrate would then be heated in an oven then microwaved in order to remove the solvent and reduce any oxygen groups on the graphene.
Task Four: Via the Internet, locate a company that might be able to manufacture your team’s proposed product. Send the company an e-mail asking that someone in the company evaluate the product your team proposed. Provide on your website the e-mail request you sent, the names of manufacturers to whom you sent the request and include any responses received.
Our email can be seen on the Design Page.
